Rosarium

The Holy Rosary is an exceptionally powerful prayer, recommended to us by the Blessed Virgin herself—especially at Fatima, where she appeared as Our Lady of the Rosary.
Throughout history, countless miracles have been attributed to this prayer: from protection in major events such as the Battle of Lepanto to conversions and personal graces that continue to this day.
Structure and Indulgence of the Rosary
The original form of the Rosary begins, after the Sign of the Cross, directly with the first mystery and its corresponding Our Father. In this classical structure, the Creed, the three Hail Marys for the theological virtues, and the introductory “Glory Be” are omitted.
Today, various enriched forms are widely practiced, beginning with additional prayers – such as the Creed, three Hail Marys for faith, hope, and charity, and an opening “Glory Be.” These variations are equally valid and by no means incorrect or inferior; they deepen meditation and reflect vibrant, heartfelt devotion.
To obtain a plenary indulgence through the Rosary, one must fulfill the usual conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, complete detachment from sin – and a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father (e.g., Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be). Additionally, the Rosary must be prayed in a church, with one’s family, or in a community setting; otherwise, only a partial indulgence can be obtained.
The following presents a commonly used version today.
1. Sign of the Cross
2. Apostles’ Creed
3. Our Father
4. 3 Hail Marys – one for each of the theological virtues: Faith, Hope, and Charity
5. Glory Be
6. First Mystery
7. Our Father
8. 10 Hail Marys
9. Glory Be
10. Second Mystery, and so on...
11. After the fifth mystery, the Litany of Loreto may be prayed.
12. At the very end, a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father (e.g., Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be)
